Family, football, and turkey (or, in the case of our vegetarian employees, a nice plant-based alternative) … it can only mean one thing: Thanksgiving is here once again! Given the fast pace of PR and social media work, this time of the year provides our team with a much-needed opportunity to take a moment and reflect on everything we’ve been fortunate for over the last 12 months.
Here’s what our team members are thankful for in 2022:
“I am thankful that I get to work with people I love and admire on projects that excite me. Not everyone can say they love going to work every day, but I honestly do and I don’t take that for granted for one minute.” — Shannan Boyer, President & Founder
“I’m thankful to work at an organization that supports so many awesome organizations in our region. We have a leader that understands the importance and value of companies and nonprofit organizations of all sizes and in many industries. This mix of clients allows everyone on our team to touch accounts that align with our interests and causes we care about. This means we can do our part to help these organizations make a big impact on our community. I never take that for granted.” — Krystan Krailler, Client Services Director
“I’m incredibly thankful for my family and friends’ health and my wonderful Scooter Media team. And, of course, for my crazy dog Zoey who is always a great source of humor on all the good and bad days.” — Lauren Vogel, Public Relations Director
“I am thankful to be working for a company that promotes such a great work/life balance. Professionally, Scooter Media allows me the professional development time to fine-tune and learn new skills, as well as exciting clients and projects to quench my creative thirst. On a personal level, Scooter Media has always allowed me to have the schedule and flexibility to be a mom and focus on my little ones and family as needed! These things keep my cup (and heart) very full this Thanksgiving season.” — Lindsey Vanderkolk, Creative Director
“2022 has been a weird year with some chaotic energy, but off the top of my head the people I am most thankful for this year are: (1) the engineers at Twitter, who are (as of this writing, at least) working hard to keep my favorite social media platform afloat; (2) the executives at Netflix who decided to bring back my all-time favorite reality TV show “The Mole;” and (3) my Scooter Media fam for always going above and beyond to be there both personally and professionally no matter what’s happening.” — Drew Boehmker, Digital Account Supervisor
“2022 was a very challenging year for me personally. While I was going through a range of items, my Scooter team was always by my side. I am very lucky and thankful that I work for a company that really values work/life balance while equally providing me the chance to grow professionally.” — Lauren Hall, Public Relations Manager
“I have repeatedly told those who ask that this is the best job I’ve ever had. Despite some personal loss this year, I am very thankful for all the opportunities I’ve been able to enjoy this year and remind myself to always be happy about the blessings I have and try to not worry about what is out of my control.” — Tabari McCoy, Content Specialist
“I am thankful for coffee, wine, Hallmark Christmas movies, and the love, humor, and acceptance of my friends and family.” — Amber Potter, Public Relations Manager
“This year I’m very thankful for my friends and family. After two years of feeling distant, it’s been great to spend much-needed quality time with my loved ones. I’m also very grateful for the Scooter Media Digital Team (aka DESK). We’re a tiny but mighty group and I know the whole team has my back!” — Sarah Brookbank, Digital Specialist
“Professionally, I’m thankful to work with a team of people that are willing to go above and beyond and help others. Personally, I’m thankful for my family, friends and health.” — Gina Genco, Senior Media Relations Specialist
“I’m thankful for the Scooter Media crew. Having co-workers that are always willing to jump in to help, bringing get-well baskets after a car accident, supporting causes near and dear to my heart, going to client events, and genuinely caring about me means so much to me. They have all left an impact on me and I look forward to another year of blessings and memories with them.” — Erin Hertzenberg, Digital Specialist
“Professionally, I am thankful for the opportunities Scooter Media has given me this year to take the lead and always being willing to give a new idea a try. Personally, I am most thankful for my family, friends, and boyfriend who got me through a rough year. Additionally, I am so thankful for the Scooter Media team — who are like family — for giving me the professional and personal support I needed, and always giving 110% in everything they do!” — Mikayla Williams, Senior Media Relations Specialist
“I am thankful for a great many things. My father is doing well after a health scare at the beginning of the year, my nephew is impressing everyone with how well he is doing in his first year in a STEM high school, I’m married to an excellent partner … and we adopted a second rescue dog this year. Plus, I’ve managed to propagate several house plants (sometimes to my loving spouse’s chagrin). Oh, I also work with a great group of people.” — Brian Mains, Senior Media Relations Specialist
“2022 was a big year for me! I got my first full-time job at Scooter at the beginning of the year, then got married just a few months ago. I have loved this year, and I am thankful for all the big changes. I can’t wait to celebrate this coming holiday season!” — Tareza Bosma, Assistant Account Executive
“I’m thankful for my mom, who has always been my no. 1 fan. She is my biggest supporter and is always cheering me on.” — Kali Reaves, Assistant Account Executive
